Our Mission

Yellowhead Regional Library (YRL) is a co-operative library system providing high quality
library service to both urban and rural residents of Alberta through the sharing of material, resources and expertise.

Our History

Yellowhead Regional Library began operations in January 1971 by providing services to the
school and public libraries in the Counties of Barrhead, Lac St. Anne, Leduc, Parkland and Wetaskiwin. As of January 1, 2010, YRL is providing service to 252,140 Albertans in 49
municipalities and 13,295 students in four school districts. The YRL headquarters is
located in the City of Spruce Grove.
