CCD - Coordinated Collection Development Tool

Below you will find the instructions to the Coordinated Collection Development (CCD) Tool for creating orders in Polaris.
 
The tool can be logged into from our website at www.yrl.ab.ca and is currently only available to Library Managers unless you have contacted me to open permissions to any of your library staff who routinely do ordering.  I have copied those staff in this email. Please let  me know if you need any other staff added in as they won’t be able to log in successfully, if they do not have permissions to do so.

The CCD tool will allow you:

  • To order in a fashion similar to a shopping cart system on Amazon or Chapters
  • To know which library (if any) has the item in YRL and TRAC
  • To create an CSV spreadsheet for your records that you can change into Excel
  • To find out the fund balance in your Polaris accounts at the point of submitting the order

We know you will really find it useful.
 
Due to a lot of screen shots, this document can take awhile to print out, so don’t be surprised and if you don’t want it in colour, make sure you have your colour printing turned off.
 
If you need a print copy and can’t get one printed out at your library, please let me know and I will send you a print copy on the van run.
