Library Snapshot Day

Submit your Snapshot Day Results!

Get in the picture!  Libraries hosted a snapshot day between October 24-29, 2011 as part of a province-wide advocacy campaign.  The stories, pictures and statistics collected make up a library advocacy package produced by Chinook Arch Regional Library.

Chinook Arch Regional Library encouraged their member public libraries to take part in this campaign in 2010.  To see what a great success is was and for more background information on snapshot day, download their powerpoint presentation.

We are excited to see the results from our participating member school and public libraries this year!  Get ready for 2012! Below you will find all the tools you need to host a successful Library Snapshot Day.

Data Collection:

Staff Data Collection form:  Simply put a tick or check in each box as the events occur in your library!

I Love My Library template:  Print, cut and ask your patrons to write or draw why they love the library.  Post around the library and take pictures!

My Library is Totally Epic template: Same as above, but for your tween and teen patrons.  Encourage them to write in the green speech bubble why they thing the library is "totally epic"

For public libraries:  At the PLC meeting on October 13, 2011 Shannon introduced the APLEN marketing campaign.  There is a link for library patrons to make their own library posters. You can set up a computer in your library on Snapshot day just for making and printing the posters, then post them in your library. It's a great way for your library patrons to show you the library services they value. Try it out and don't forget to take pictures!
