Services: Cataloguing and Processing

As part of our bibliographic services, YRL orders, catalogues and processes library materials for member libraries. Centralized ordering reduces the cost of library materials, allowing member libraries to realise a larger discount than they would ordering library materials independently.

Libraries may order material with their allotment budget, or use their own funds to order material through YRL. All materials are catalogued free of charge.

Libraries may send in items that have been purchased outside of YRL to be catalogued and processed. These items are known as process only and must be accompanied by a process only form. Each item must have a completed process only form attached to the item and each item must be stamped or labeled with the library's identification. If more than 20 items are sent in at one time, please contact the YRL Cataloguing Team to confirm turnaround timelines.
