Youth Intern Employment Support Program

We are extremely pleased to announce that we have official word that Alberta CAP-YI has been approved for another year (start of April 2009 to end of March 2010).  This means that we can now accept applications for CAP-YI 2009-2010 Youth Intern funding!

To apply, please go to www.lcncap.com (http://www.lcncap.com/partners.php?id=38) and follow the updated instructions for AB CAP-YI 2009-10. They are very similar to last year so, for those who participated last year, the application process should be straight forward.

As in previous years, CAP-YI will allow claims for reimbursement within contract limits, retroactive to April 1, 2009.  Reimbursement rate is $12.00 per hour up to the maximum of 420 hours plus 12% mandatory employment costs (MERC - i.e. vacation pay, CPP and EI).

To be eligible your organization must be listed in the “CAP Site Listing” document available on the LCN website.

If you already have hired a staff and would like to apply for reimbursement, could you let supply us with the following information immediately?

The CAP-YI program covers Intern staffing from Apr. 1, 2009 to Mar. 31, 2010

For time already worked by interns you may submit required reports and invoices (funding will be based on signed approved contracts)

Following the receipt of the above information it will be reviewed and if approved a contract will be forwarded to you. Having the above information right away will help reduce reimbursement wait times.
