New Social Studies Curriculum Booklists - October 2008
On October 31, YRL held a school libraries workshop. Thalia Hartson presented a session called "Selecting & Promoting Resources for the New Social Studies Curriculum". Thalia is a former consultant for Edmonton Public Schools and specializes in incorporating children's literature into the curriculum. Thalia's book lists for grades k-9 appear below:

On October 31, YRL held a school libraries workshop. Wanda Pederson presented a session called "Elements of School Library Management". Wanda is the library manager at Onoway High School. Migration to New Library Software - August 2008
The TRAC consortium of libraries is migrating to a new library computer system. While we currently use Dynix to circulate books and track holds, starting in January 2009, public libraries will be using the Polaris library system.
